The University of Aberdeen Chamber Choir is an auditioned choir comprising students from across the subject areas at the University of Aberdeen, from music and education to law, medicine and neuroscience. The choir sings a balanced repertoire but focuses mainly on contemporary music, championing composers who study at Aberdeen and those who sing in the choir.

The choir has performed for Her Majesty the Queen in Aberdeen and Balmoral, and for HRH the Duchess of Cornwall in the Music Department of Aberdeen University. It regularly tours, and has visited Poland, Holland, Belgium, Germany, Northern Ireland and New York City. It has performed all over the UK and was especially delighted to sing live on BBC Radio 3 at the BBC Proms in both 2014 and 2016, when it performed Verdi’s Messa da Requiem as part of the BBC Proms Youth Choir with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, under the baton of renowned American conductor Marin Alsop.
